A great addition to my flock-keeping supplies! I used the saltwater in a plastic bottle method last year for a 5-gallon bucket watering system with mediocre success. The Perfect Bucket Heater De-Icer has lessened having to change out water every morning or break up ice out of the cups that we use. The low wattage used by this product is a great help as well! Highly recommend!

It hasn't been cold enough for it to even turn on but I'm assuming it will work great.

This worked really well. Kept the water from freezing even when temperature were below freezing for several day.

This didn't keep the water from freezing, not with the cup style waterer I had. I wouldn't recommend

Used it for one season now and it worked perfect. I used it inside a plastic 5 gallon bucket with no problem. Worked great.

Best chicken water heater out there! Tried several other types out there and they never made it past a season! This is our second unit and the prior one had lasted 4 years. We just packed it up and could not find it so we had to order a second! Now we will have 2 units when we find the other. Don't waste your money on any other brands!

Perfect for your chicks to have ice free water

Pros: Prevents freeze so far (haven't hit _really_ cold temps yet). Cord is decently long and rugged. Puck is a convenient size and heavy enough to stay in place. Cons: the grey coating is already flaking off (less than 2wks use) - that's disconcerting. The plastic cord bracket broke instantly upon trying to secure over bucket edge.

Works as described so far. A few cold days but waiting for freezing weather to see how well it really works
