Description:
Bantam Brahmas are gentle sweeties with feathered legs and feet and profuse, fluffy feathering. Developed in the United States, these birds were bred for meat production, though the hens lay relatively decently and are great setters and mothers. This fancy breed of chicken makes a great pet for its quiet and tame nature, tolerance to the cold, and lovability.
Buff Brahma Bantams are no longer available for the 2024 hatching season. Check out our collection of day-old baby chicks.

Questions
Baby Chicks: Buff Brahma Bantam Female
This is one of our smallest chickens and the sweetest. Rosie is my daughters favorite by far and loves to be held and is so mellow. She was our first hen to lay eggs out of 21 others and once she laid her first egg became so much more friendly.

This asks you to give feedback on a product and I can't do that. Our little Otti-Lee is so much more than that. She is a curious new family member. She loves snacks and exploring our home. She has been to multiple states and doesn't mind road trips in the least. When one of my chicks fell ill and passed, MPC followed up with me and gave advice on helping the ailing chick. The two who survived are incredible girls and I am soooo happy I chose to purchase my girls from MPC.

Baby Chicks: Buff Brahma Bantam Female
My Loofie girl is so cuddly and lets me parade her around the yard in my arms. She also is food obsessed and will steal my own food right out of my hands with no shame. Heads up, she was a very imbalanced chick and I'd often find her on her back, but she turned out okayish mentally so I guess no harm no fowl.

Baby Chicks: Buff Brahma Bantam Female
In 2018 we ordered from MPC for the first time, and amongst the various breeds, we had a Buff Brahma Bantam. She was the smallest and we were very worried when the other chicks actually knocked her over onto her back! We named her Thumbelina, although that quickly turned into Bina. Luckily, as she got older she became much less vulnerable and was easily able to integrate into the ‘Big House’ with her siblings. She became one of our favorites. Jumping up onto laps and falling asleep in arms, it was no surprise! But a year or two later she befell the misfortune of a prolapsed uterus- our first-ever case of it. We tried everything to help her, but still, she did not get better. At last, almost a week later and afraid she really would die, we went outside and made a wish for her to get better. And guess what? She did! We were so happy.
Then a few years later we recommended this breed to a friend and offered to combine our order with hers- that meant we could get just six chicks! Great idea, right? (we are a bit tight on space, what can we say? Chickens are the best!) Four little Buff Brahmas came along with our other chicks, such cute things! And then, at the last moment it turned out our friend couldn’t take her chicks- did we want them? OF COURSE! Oh well, six extra wouldn’t hurt. So our smart little idea to get less chicks ended us up with twelve. We named our little mistake-chicks Golden-Bean, Jumping-Bean, Black-Bean, and Vanilla-Bean. it turned out Vanilla-Bean looked just like Bina- perhaps they’re sisters! Bina lives in a different house than the other ‘beans’ and whenever she runs into them they all get confused. “Are you Vanilla-Bean?” “Who's Vanilla-Bean? I'm Bina!” great little birds!

Baby Chicks: Buff Brahma Bantam Female
My Buff Brahma Bantam (Idgie) is my favorite of the flock, hands down. She hops up on me whenever I get near for cuddles. She's a very chill girl. Happy to be handled, varying place on the pecking order it seems but hovers in the middle. Soft as heck. I adore her.

Baby Chicks: Buff Brahma Bantam Female
My order of baby chicks came in healthy, safe, and chirping, and Paprika was one of them! Her adorable brown baby coloring and her little feet feather tufts MELT MY HEART! She’s an absolute angel and adores being handled. The others can be a bit mean to her because she looks a little different, but she pecks right back! Holds her own, but is still a docile baby! Once she goes outside with her older, feathered-feet d’uccles sibling, I bet her bare-feet siblings will back off lol.

Our beloved Jokgu came from MPC and was a light in the world. So smart and quiet and a real joy. She lived only 5 years, but so much life in those years! ❤

Baby Chicks: Buff Brahma Bantam Female
My previous review referred to my chick as a hen. Well, a couple weeks later, he bloomed and is, in fact, a rooster. Very friendly, outgoing little guy, he is the watchdog for my flock. At five months old, he runs to greet visitors and let them pet his glossy neck before running off to find more tasty bugs. Sometimes he brings me a fat earthworm. (appreciate the though, Seraphim, but I just don't like worms!)

Baby Chicks: Buff Brahma Bantam Female
At 17 weeks old and 3 pounds these are my most curious hens. Both are high up in the pecking order and are always on the hunt for the best food. Buttercup likes to cuddle when it suits her and wants to have a full on conversation with me in hen speak. If I feel a peck on my back I always know it's Lucy Lou. She's always exploring with her beak. Both are easy to pick up when they aren't preoccupied with food. Can be a bit pecky, but a flick of the index finger to the beak (as a peck back) has helped them to learn who is alpha hen. Love these two. Both are characters and big time communicators.
