This female assortment consists of our best brown and white egg layers! In the first two years of her life, you can expect 5+ large eggs per week from your spoiled "Our Best Layers" Assortment hen.
You will receive one baby chick from this assortment for each quantity you add to your cart. Your assortment is likely to be drawn from the following:

Ordering Information:
- You will receive one baby chick from this assortment for each quantity you add to your basket.
- Minimum purchase quantity: 10 chicks. You must purchase a minimum of 10 chicks from this assortment.
- The breeds chosen to fulfill your order are selected by the hatchery based on which breeds had a particularly good hatch week your shipment is scheduled.
- We can't take requests, as we are at the mercy of Mother Nature's whims. If you really want that particular breed, you'll need to wait for its availability to pop up.
- Also, remember that breeds in assortments may or may not be tagged, and specific breeds may or may not be noted on the packing list. If you need help with identification, please check out our Baby Chick Identification photos.

I ordered and received 36 chicks, all arrived alive. I did lose one after the first 48 hours but the rest are doing well.

3 out of 6 of my babies died

We do not see a report from you regarding your little ones as they were covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee for 48 hours after their arrival. My order arrived as scheduled and I picked up the chicks at the post office before sunrise. They were so loud lol. All were alert except for 1. We got to the coop, the brooder plate was already on and it was warm - food, plain water, and electrolyte water awaited them. Even with my best effort, I did lose the one little chick. Shout out to customer service who helped me with a refund. My only wish - I ordered a variety and a photo list of what I received would have been most helpful. I did go back to the site to attempt to figure it out.

Chickens are wonderful! We did have one die the first night at of our 15 but it may have been from stress from shipping. Thanks so much again, we’ve always enjoyed our chickens we’ve ordered from you!

I love my pet chicken and have had much luck in the past. This time I ended up getting 2 unwanted Roos. Trying to rehome them at this time because I'm not allowed to have them in my neighborhood. Unfortunately my local post office here in FL lost the babies in the mail and they were in the box a day longer then necessary. I ordered 12 and lost one 😌. So because of my loss and the 2 Roos I'm down to 9 perfectly healthy thriving chickens.

I ordered 6 of these babies and couldn't be happier. They are such sweethearts. They are now 4 weeks old and are so loving. They know my voice and come running to me, they love to sit on my lap and love to be pet. I just took them out for a field trip to their Coop, they stuck right by my side. Trying to get them used to their Coop and run so I can move them out in a few weeks. I highly recommend these babies and talk to and handle them daily to tame them. They are so precious and am hoping that my girls will give me good eggs eventually.

Seven little chicks arrived today. PO was great about contacting me and i followed their trip until they arrived. I’d forgotten how loud they can be and active. All settled in and doing well. Many thanks. Now to identify what they are.

I received my five baby chicks today, all seem healthy and strong, already playing and how many baby chicks can you fit in a food dish , evidently all five. Lol lol .!! OMG so dang adorable.! Thanks , I will definitely be coming back again.

Our second batch of chickens arrived today in great health. Shipped yesterday, picked up at the post office today and they are home and eating like crazy! As with our first batch a couple of years ago, great experience and healthy birds. Beats going to the local store and hoping they have what you want...combined with the covid issues this is the best way to go!

I was not sure what to expect when I ordered day old chicks online to raise backyard chickens for eggs. I even ordered more chicks than we were prepared to keep, in case some didn’t survive. Not only did they all arrive healthy, but all are thriving. My Pet Chicken does an excellent job, not only providing healthy chickens, but has extensive articles online to educate would be poultry raisers. They have a complete array of coop supplies and feed, so everything ‘chicken’ related can be ordered online. We gave the extra chicks to a family that has a farm and was looking to raise chickens again.

These are my first baby chicks and I was the worried expectant chicken mama! Chicks shipped Monday and by Tuesday night I was fretting as I live in a mountain community with snow on the ground. They were at the Post Office Wednesday morning and as I picked them up couldn't hear them peep.
When I got them home, box was impressively packed, the hot pack still warm. Immediately they went to drinking and have not stopped eating all morning. I am so happy with my new flock!
