Most of the Marans have similar personalities, so you should be comfortable with the Cuckoo Marans since you're familiar with Black Copper Marans. Friendly, good layers, not often broody. I think she's going to be a great addition to your flock. Thank you for a great review!

Purchased two. One was struggling some when picked up of post office. Did not grow or develop like the healthy ones. Passed on 4th day.

This is one of the best places to buy chicks , in June 2023I bought 9 silver cuckoo marans chicks, now the are perfect and growing healthy, they are beautiful , yesterday I moved them with mi other chickens in a big barn, they are happy. Costumer service is great, I love this place, my pet chicken , awesome site to buy it, thanks

The Silver Cuckoo Marans chicks arrived in time and were very alert and healthy looking. We've had them for over a week now, along with our Exchequer Leghorns and Light Brahmas and they are thriving and growing!

I have one silver cuckoo marans from My Pet Chicken who is now about four years old. She has such a nice, calm temperament and makes the BEST mother. Hands down the best broody mama of my flock. Absolutely a determined mother, if she goes broody the only solution seems to be giving her chicks (maybe that's a con).
When she's not trying to raise chicks, she is pretty consistent about laying eggs and is overall a very healthy bird.

Baby Chicks: Silver Cuckoo Marans Female
She was probably my least favorite of three different kinds of Maran hens. She was very flighty and when she was broody was super aggressive and would peck and not let me near the laying box (my other broody girls let me collect the real eggs they’re sitting on while I leave the fake ones behind for them to nest on).
